    Sheriff Falls graduated from the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy in 1996. He enjoyed a distinguished and diverse career with the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office. He held a variety of operational and administrative roles over his 20 years of service in Fairfax.

    In 2016, Sheriff Falls joined the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office as a Major. Subsequently, he was appointed Lieutenant Colonel and Chief Deputy in 2018. As Lt. Col., he was in charge of the day-to-day operation of the Sheriff’s Office. In January of 2022, he was sworn in as the Interim-Sheriff and was then elected to the position to fill out the unexpired term of his predecessor. Sheriff Falls was elected for a four-year term in 2023.

    Sheriff Falls received his bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Leadership from the University of Richmond. He earned his Master of Public Administration at George Mason University. The Sheriff is a graduate of the 256th session of the FBI National Academy.

    Sheriff Falls and his wife Crystal have two adult sons and currently live in Warrenton, VA.
